I lose passwords like they are loose change. And I can’t exactly reset them on a public computer. So here I am, on an iPhone cause my 5 year old flip phone went kapoot. Major upgrade. I love it. Except I’m turning into Carmen, but that’s for another entry.
Today I will discuss The Curious Incident of the Dog inthe Night-Time. And yes. This book was $1.80. Because I’m cool like that. And basically live at Half-Price Books.
So. Mark Haddon’s book. I loved it. My current job entails sometimes working with people who have diagnosed autism. Since the book’s main character has autism, I thought it a good time to read.
I’ll be honest. It’s been so long since I read the book that it took me 10 minutes to remember the main character’s name. So this will not be terribly detailed.
My favorite part of the book was that the insight into life with autism was amazing. While reading, I was learning about autism from other areas of life, and the narrative voice was spot on. It really is a book people should read. I’ve already lent out my copy.
I also enjoyed the chapters being prime numbers. It took me until chapter 7 (4) to realize that, but it made my night. I am impressed by the simplest things.
I really don’t know what all to say except that I enjoyed the book and that others should read it to at least get a semblance of what it’s like to live a life with autism.
same here! i read that book a few years ago. i think one of the reasons i picked it up was because of the title.
